Summary

Do you want to shape the reliability of technologies that reach millions of people around the world? Our Systems Quality organization plays a critical role in ensuring Apple delivers products that are not only innovative, but exceptionally stable and reliable. We work at the intersection of hardware and software, partnering closely with engineering teams to uncover risk early, influence design decisions, and help bring world-class consumer products to life.

As a Stability Quality Engineer, you’ll join a highly technical team focused on system-level stability and stress validation. You’ll be involved early in development cycles, designing and executing hardware-centric software tests that surface low-level issues before they reach customers. Your work will directly inform product readiness decisions and help define the quality bar for Apple products.

Description

You’ll plan, develop, and execute system stability and stress tests with a strong focus on hardware-centric software risks. Working across multiple systems at scale, you’ll design both manual and automated tests, collaborate closely with hardware and software engineering partners, and support deep technical investigations to identify and mitigate system-level risks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree

  • 3+ years of experience in hardware/software test engineering

  • In depth knowledge of processor instruction set architecture and microarchitecture

  • Worked with Unix-based operating systems and shell scripting

  • Developed or executed low-level and user-level automation using scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Swift, or JavaScript

  • You have worked with cross-functional engineering teams

  • Designed or orchestrated agent-based workflows (e.g., multi-step automation, tool-calling pipelines, or model-context protocols) to improve engineering productivity or quality outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree

  • Worked with supporting factory processes such as burn-in or qualification testing

  • Developed and maintained Python-based automation frameworks and UI automation tests such as XCTest

  • Creation of reporting or data visualization using tools such as Tableau

  • Use of AI-powered tools or agents for test development, debugging, data analysis, or workflow automation
