The Manager, Retirement & Financial Well-being will work on the Global Well-being and Benefits team in Colleague Total Rewards and Well-being (CTRW). As a key team member, this person will be a part of our award-winning global financial well-being program, Smart Saving. Through Smart Saving, we raise awareness of the benefits of financial health, increase financial knowledge, enable colleagues to effectively manage their spending, and plan for all types of financial events in their lives. A major component of Smart Saving is our Retirement Savings Plan (RSP), our 401(k ).

This position will primarily focus on U.S. retirement plans and global financial well-being and is part of the team responsible for benefits strategy reporting directly to the Director of Retirement & Smart Saving. This individual will play an essential role in shaping retirement program strategy, overseeing both qualified and non-qualified plans, driving governance and investment committee initiatives, and advancing the financial well-being program.". This position will work closely with both internal partners and service providers to ensure that benefit offerings are effective and meet business objectives. The ideal candidate must possess strong project management skills and be a creative/critical thinker to drive integrated and impactful programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Play a key role in the development and ongoing strategy of all retirement and well-being offerings

  • Play lead role in project management of all financial well-being initiatives

  • Evaluate existing plan design through research and analysis of retirement industry trends

  • Act as a center of expertise team member for senior leadership and colleagues regarding retirement program benefits

  • Support retirement investment and governance committees

  • Participate in investment manager selection and contracting

  • Evaluate and identify risks associated with the retirement strategy and governance of Amex's programs and develop controls and procedures to mitigate risk

  • Oversee special projects that require integration between colleague benefits and other CEG priorities as well as merger and acquisition activity

  • Monitor programs to ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements

  • Partner with retirement operations on risk mitigation strategy across the plans ensuring appropriate controls and documentation processes are in place

  • Partner with internal stakeholders including controllership, external reporting, treasury, external and internal auditors, legal, tax, and others as necessary

  • Vendor relationship management, related budgeting and ongoing monitoring

  • Assist with the development of colleague communications regarding financial well-being programs

  • Develop program content, education seminars/webinars on financial/retirement topics

  • Program event planning and implementation

  • Provide support for special projects and presentations

  • Project management, from strategy to execution Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years working in Human Resources Benefits or Retirement Consulting, with demonstrated expertise in retirement plan and financial benefits strategy, design, and compliance.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.

  • High proficiency in data management and analysis, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong project planning and management skills.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple vendors and projects.

  • Ability to handle confidential information.

  • Ability to multi-task while working under tight timelines.

  • Ability to be flexible and handle multiple priorities.

  • Ability to thrive in a global and virtual work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of investments.

  • Superior understanding of the components of a benefits program and ability to design and implement innovations in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to apply a colleague needs/experience lens when creating solutions.

  • Strong client-service orientation, including presentation skills and ability to deliver exceptional service.

  • Proven ability to develop relationships at all levels of the organization and across a broad base of stakeholders.

  • Prior experience with or familiarity with AI capabilities.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with proactive initiative-taking.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
