How will you make an impact in this role?
Technology Business Enablement (TBE) sits under the Enterprise Platforms & Technology Business Management department. The Technology Business Enablement (TBE) organization powers American Express by driving Predictability, Transparency, and Efficiency to transform how the enterprise plans, invests and operates to drive trust, competitive differentiation and speed.
This role for Manager of Technical Project Management is responsible for enabling high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams by applying Agile principles, facilitating delivery, and removing impediments to execution. This role serves as a servant leader, ensuring teams operate efficiently, predictably, and in alignment with organizational priorities and standards while continuously improving delivery practices through collaboration with the broader product and engineering teams and associated stakeholders. In this role you will be focus on the implementation of SaaS based software in support of transforming our portfolio management capabilities.
Responsibilities Include:
Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) to ensure effective team execution
Remove impediments and manage dependencies to keep teams focused on delivery
Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile values, practices, and continuous improvement
Partner with product and engineering leadership to plan, track, and communicate delivery outcomes
Monitor and report on delivery metrics, risks, and progress to support data-driven decisions
Protect teams from unplanned work and external disruptions
Support scaling practices and cross-team coordination where applicable
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
5 years of experience in technical project management, Scrum Master, or Agile delivery roles
Demonstrated experience supporting software engineering teams in an Agile environment
Strong working knowledge of Scrum and Agile frameworks and practices
Experience managing delivery timelines, risks, and dependencies in complex technical environments
Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, product, and business stakeholders
Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of IBM Apptio products, or Broadcom Clarity, including tools supporting technology cost transparency, portfolio/program management, and investment planning processes
Familiarity with IT Portfolio Management and Technology Business Management (TBM) processes
Experience operating in a large-scale enterprise environment with distributed or globally located engineering teams
Qualifications
Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually bonus benefits
