Summary

We live in a mobile and device driven world where knowledge of the physical world around us is needed. We rely on this knowledge to get around, to learn about our environment, and to enable spectacular new features for custom applications. Apple is meeting those needs as robustly and creatively as possible and is interested in people who want to help meet that commitment. The success we are striving for will be the result of very skilled people working in an environment which cultivates creativity, partnership, and thinking of old problems in new ways. If that sounds like the kind of environment that you find intriguing, then let's talk. These elements come together to make Apple an amazing environment for motivated people to do the greatest work of their lives. You will become part of a team that sets the standard in fostering excellence, creativity and innovation. Will you help us design the next generation of revolutionary Apple products?

The Wireless Power Technology team is pioneering new ways of charging your devices. Our flagship product’s name, the MagSafe charger, says it all. It is magnetic, it charges fast, and above all, it is safe! Bringing all these aspects together requires careful orchestration of electromagnetism, passive and active electronics, state-of-the-art safety algorithms, communication over inductive links, and, of course, an appealing product design. Our products touch millions of lives each day with consistency and dependability. We adhere to rigorous, data-driven engineering principles to ensure optimal performance in every conceivable scenario.

The successful candidate will have deep expertise in electrical engineering fundamentals, including analog and digital signal processing, and electric circuits, with a proven track record of shipping complex products. They will lead technical initiatives, drive architecture decisions, and mentor team members while exploring new domains in wireless charging. Expertise in simulation, bench validation, and cross-functional leadership is essential.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.

  • Proven track record developing communication modems or complex signal processing systems.

  • Deep expertise in analog and digital signal processing: signals & systems, filters, transforms, MATLAB or Python.

  • Strong background in circuits and circuit simulations: RLC circuits, op-amps, diodes, FETs, SPICE/Cadence, etc.

  • Extensive experience with lab equipment: hardware validation, debugging, and failure analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to take hardware technologies from concept to mass production.

  • Track record of technical leadership on multi-functional projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Electrical Engineering with focus on communications or signal processing and a minimum of 7+ years industry experience or PhD with 5+ years of industry experience.

  • History of driving execution across cross-functional teams and external vendors.

  • Strong publication record or patents in relevant areas.

  • Ability to communicate deep technical concepts to varied audiences (executives, engineers, partners).

  • Experience with manufacturing and compliance requirements.
