Role & Responsibilities:
Help propel your team and its business partners to success.
Here’s just some of what you’ll do in this role:
Support the Corporate Secretary’s Office (CSO) with respect to corporate governance matters for all American Express Company subsidiaries
Act as a thought leader on subsidiary-related corporate governance matters across the enterprise
Manage projects to enhance subsidiaries’ corporate governance
Assist in all aspects of subsidiary management, including KYC requirements
Serve as an Assistant Secretary for significant subsidiaries
Draft subsidiary board/committee meeting agendas
Attend subsidiary board/committee meetings and take minutes
Draft/refresh internal governance policies and procedures
Maintain the CSO’s Legal Entity Governance Center of Excellence site
Manage procedures that underlie internal policies owned by the CSO
Manage projects to enhance workflow efficiency in the CSO
Provide support with respect to American Express Company corporate governance matters, as necessary from time to time

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Previous experience at law firm and/or large corporation in subsidiary management and corporate governance
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and executive presence
Highly organized with an ability to demonstrate keen attention to details, adaptability, flexibility, resourcefulness, and efficiency
Ability to work well while managing a significant workload in a challenging and fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal relationship and networking skills to build and maintain effective professional relationships across all areas of the enterprise
Must be a notary
Preferred qualifications:
Business-oriented approach to problem solving
Superior analytic skills
Excellent judgment and drafting skills
High level of personal accountability
Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
