Business Unit/Role Specific Information
American Express’ Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the global leader in providing payments solutions for small, medium and large businesses. The GCS business offers a wide range of card and payment programs, expense management tools, consulting services, business financing and cross-border payments solutions to small businesses, mid-sized companies and large corporations around the world. The Global Commercial Services Marketing team is responsible for creating an end-to-end global marketing strategy and distribution plan for our prospect & customer segments around the world.
Advanced AI Capabilities & Marketing Team is part of the Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement Team (AIM) within GCS organization of American Express. AIM group is responsible for driving commercial customer acquisitions, engagement & retention globally by evolving our card & beyond-card products, targeting customers over online and offline channels through delivering world-class Analytics, Insights and Data Products.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Report, collect, analyze and interpret data from various marketing campaigns including generating reports and dashboards to track performance metrics and providing insights to the marketing team.
Identify based on the data analysis, areas for campaign optimization. improvement in ongoing marketing campaigns. This involves making data-driven recommendations to optimize campaign performance and achieve better results.
Deliver marketing campaign analysis reports, detailing the performance of various marketing campaigns, highlighting key metrics such as conversion rates, click-through rates, and return on investment.
Analyze data and provide insights to help optimize future campaigns.
Work on projects that involve segmenting the customer base into distinct groups based on behavior, demographics, or other criteria. This helps in tailoring marketing strategies to different segments for better engagement and results.
Create interactive dashboards and visualizations to present data in a clear and actionable format. These tools would be used by the marketing team to monitor performance and make data-driven decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a full-time Master’s or Graduate degree program.
Graduate Degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
Interest in commercial payments, analytics, and marketing using various marketing analytics tools and techniques to measure and optimize marketing performance, interpret data and derive actionable insights.
Proficiency in the one or more of the following:
Python
Big data programming languages like Hive or Spark
Problem solving: Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and financial acumen with the ability to distill down complex concepts or problems.
Intellectual curiosity: High-intellectual curiosity and desire to continually learn, comfortable challenging the status quo and driving continuous process.
Collaborative team player: Ability to collaborate with and build strong relationships with leaders, colleagues and cross-functional partners.
Project management experience: Superior organizational skills with the ability to autonomously manage several initiatives at once and drive results in a fast paced, multi-partner environment with constant change.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years’ minimum experience in Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Advanced Statistical Analysis
Experience in Generative AI techniques, Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI and building AI agents
Graduate students enrolled in one of the below areas or related field:
Analytics
Marketing
Engineering
Exposure to NLP & LLM is highly desirable.
Demonstrated resilience, proactive problem solving, can-do attitude, and optimism in changing circumstances.
Previous analytics internship experience.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $38.45 to $87.00 hourly sign-on bonus
