Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Work on various components of Maps Search Infrastructure and contribute to design, development and maintenance of key search components/features (such as Speller, Query Parsers, Ranking/Recommendation Engine, etc.) Work closely with Data, Applied Science (Ranking/Relevance) and Analytics teams to develop new features and ensure our customers have the best search experience in Maps app. Develop low-latency, high-throughput search systems and services written in Java/C++, served over different versions of Linux. Participate in design and code reviews, work with engineers and Quality Assurance team to deliver high quality search experience to Maps app users. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $152,071 - $220,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
Java or C++ to develop low-latency, high-throughput search systems and services.
Data Structures (graph and tree data structure) to develop low-latency, high-throughput search systems and services.
Large scale services which are used by end users to develop low-latency, high throughput search systems and services.
Multithreading to develop low-latency, high-throughput search systems and services
Big data processing using Hadoop, Hive and Spark to develop production scale data pipeline for search systems
Linux or Unix operating system to develop search system software
Software design paradigm: service-oriented architecture, microservices, and object-oriented design
Information retrieval fundamentals: inverted indices, query processing, and optimizations
