How will you make an impact in this role?

Responsibilities :

  • Establish and evolve frameworks for assessing and reporting on data-related technology risks, including data security, privacy, retention, and lineage.

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Technology, Data Governance, Cybersecurity, and Compliance to define enterprise data risk priorities and drive mitigation efforts.

  • Develop and oversee risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) processes focused on data domains and associated technology platforms.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of key risk indicators (KRIs), metrics, and executive dashboards for visibility into data risk posture and control effectiveness.

  • Provide thought leadership on the intersection of data management and operational/technology risk in hybrid and cloud environments.

  • Guide and mentor analysts in the execution of data risk assessments, testing, and issue management.

  • Participate in regulatory exams, internal audits, and executive-level governance forums, providing expert commentary and evidence.

  • Ensure alignment of the firm’s enterprise data risk taxonomy with risk appetite, business context, and control inventory.

  • Contribute to risk scenario analysis, incident response, and root cause reviews with a focus on data-driven insights and sustainable remediation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior experience in data governance, data risk management, data compliance, or enterprise data transformation programs preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data governance, data risk, enterprise risk management, or a related technology risk discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading risk programs across complex data and technology environments.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory and industry frameworks relevant to data risk (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR/CCPA, NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, FFIEC).

  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, data cataloging tools, and cloud-native data architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Track record of partnering with senior stakeholders and communicating complex risk issues in business terms.

  • Strong leadership, influencing, and project management skills in a cross-functional setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within financial services, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with GRC platforms (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow, MetricStream).

  • Recognized industry certifications such as CDMP, CRISC, CISA, or CGEIT.

  • Advanced degree in Information Systems, Risk Management, Data Science, or related field.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually bonus benefits
