Job Description
Responsibilities:
Ownership of processing lab equipment, ensuring specifications and procedures are created, and that qualification, PM, calibration, and repairs are performed.
Works with Process Engineers to identify, develop, scale, and automate equipment.
Identify and collaborate with third-party system integrators as necessary to support projects.
Works with vendors and AbbVie internal functions to develop automation solutions.
Interfaces with various departments to ensure processes and designs are compatible for new product technology transfer.
Actively collaborate with the project teams to support the execution of successful project studies.
Supports the design and development of processes for manufacturing clinical and commercial tissue products.
Investigates and evaluates existing technology; designs and implements new methodologies, materials, machines, and processes.
Demonstrates subject matter expertise by developing department standards and improving existing work practices.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 8-10 years process development experience in a regulated industry.
Desirable:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related field with 2-4 years experience or PhD with 0-2 years experience.
Technical/Business Knowledge - Job Skills/Experience Required:
Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to define appropriate actions in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria.
Ability to act under limited supervision to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
Ability to leverage statistics, analysis, simulation and experimentation in the design and development process.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Cognitive Skills:
- Completes analysis of root causes and makes recommendations without supervision; reviews other professionals’ analysis; leads problem solving teams.
Ownership/Accountability:

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Salary: $106,500 - $202,500
