Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Analyze system architecture requirements for upcoming laptop products and coordinating the integration of these components into a single, working device. Understand electrical theory as it applies to building high-speed digital systems. Understand the typical engineering processes that are required to mass produce electronic devices successfully. Performing component datasheet analysis and selection for schematic capture. Coordinate layout of highly constrained multilayer PCBs, including HDI and fine pitch BGAs. Forecasting and planning design time to meet constrained schedules. Drive design tradeoffs across manufacturing, test, thermal, performance, reliability, battery life, and electrical stakeholders. Work on prototype bring-up, debug, functional verification, and electrical characterization. Using advanced lab tools such as 25 GHz oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and BERT scopes to judge the quality and robustness of electrical designs. Analyze factory-scale data to adjust signal parameters for maximum margin. Review designs of factory test fixtures and ensure manufacturing test plans provide adequate coverage to ensure the design is assembled correctly. Debug problems found in manufacturing and implement feedback on root cause and corrective action into the design or manufacturing process in preparation for high volume. Communicate and present status on concurrent top issues and deadlines. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Education and/or experience must include each of the following skills:

• Utilizing SPICE to simulate circuit performance and correlate it back to measured results

• Using electrical lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, electronic loads, and power supplies to validate electrical design

• Developing high speed digital hardware systems for displays, cameras, storage, and I/O.

• Using CAD such as Allegro to generate schematics and multi-layer, HDI PCB layout.

• Using electrical engineering principles to debug electrical failures such as cap shorts, trace cracks, component opens, and units that can’t power on

• Selecting appropriate electrical components to read component datasheets to find relevant specifications

• Using electrical engineering knowledge to assess tradeoffs in system design choices.

• Applying high speed routing and equalization concepts to design for signal integrity and RF/EMC performance
