Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Seattle, Washington. Responsible for understanding the limitation of existing Content Storage Service and research and propose a better software design to optimize. Implement software changes using specialized Knowledge on Apple’s Integration Testing, Software Load Test Automation, and Cloud deployment tools. Apple Content Storage Service and Content Analytics Service. Lead software engineering for Apple Music product features by collaborating across various engineering and project management teams. Design new server-server and client-server protocol for Apple Music product features. Implement software enhancements (Coding, Testing, Deployment) to develop Apple Music product features and software infrastructure enhancements. Apple Media Data Models, Content Processing Service, and Content Analytics Service. Lead software engineering to enhance Content Analytics Service by proposing innovative solutions to enhance Content Analytics Service to improve its performance and end user usability. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 - $258,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Experience and/or education must include:
Utilizing distributed, NoSQL data stores (Solr, Cassandra, and Memcached) to scale content storage services
Utilizing network protocols (e.g. HTTPS, TCP/IP) to debug issues and reduce latencies of server responses to clients
Utilizing messaging services (Kafka) to build processing pipelines that create data sets in content storage services
Utilizing Java and Python to develop services and tools to debug them
Utilizing microservices architecture to develop content storage services
Utilizing multi-threaded programming to develop scalable applications
Utilizing performance tuning to reduce overhead on servers and reduce latencies for server responses to client
Utilizing data structures and algorithms to develop performant services
Utilizing software development tools (Docker, Maven) to setup applications and tests
Caching to scale up content storage services to serve millions of reads per second
