DESCRIPTION

Lead multiple cross-functional quality and logistics projects from inception to completion. Facilitate project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine scope and objectives through utilization of tools such as 7-Step problem solving and methods including Schedule and Scope Management. Develop logistics metrics, internal analysis tools, and key performance indicators for business units and identify cost-reduction or process-improvement logistics opportunities. Design or analyze operational solutions for projects such as transportation optimization, network modeling, process and methods analysis, cost containment, capacity enhancement, routing and shipment optimization, or information management. Develop and implement quality programs composed of multiple cross-functional projects and partner with key business stakeholders to ensure success project completion. Identify or develop business rules or standard operating procedures to streamline operating processes. Conduct logistics studies or analyses, such as time studies, zero-base analyses, rate analyses, network analyses, flow-path analyses, or supply chain analyses. Leverage principles of Project Issue and Risk Management to identify, assess, and prioritize issues and risks. Utilize logistics and quality engineering tools FMEA, and 9-box project risk summary to identify areas of risk and implement solutions for product design issues. Apply change management tools and processes to broad-based organization change issues, in order to anticipate issues and consider implications in decision-making processes to anticipate potential barriers. Lead supply chain processes to ensure the supply of materials required to maintain machines or equipment is in the prescribed condition, and design comprehensive supply chains that minimize environmental impacts and costs. Apply logistics modeling techniques to address issues, such as operational process improvement of facility design or layout. Lead DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) for continuous process improvement initiatives, and to measure and identify solutions for associated project issues. Ensure project documentation is complete, monitor measures and communicate with Project Sponsor and stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments related to engine component quality. Provide logistics technology or information for effective and efficient support of product, equipment, or system manufacturing or service. Conduct Business Planning and Business Case Development to coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, and procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Master’s degree in Logistics, Systems, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience as a Logistics, Systems, Product, or Quality Engineer, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Systems, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience as a Logistics, Systems, Product, or Quality Engineer, or related position. Experience to include: 7-Step problem solving; Schedule and Scope Management; Identify cost-reduction or process-improvement logistics opportunities; Analyze operational solutions for projects; Engineering tools FMEA, and 9 box project risk summary; Supply chain processes; DFSS (Design for Six Sigma); Business Planning and Business Case Development; Implement quality control objectives, activities, and procedures.
