We are looking for a Program Manager to join our Content Optimization team and play a key role in shaping the future of Apple Music's content experience. As a Program Manager, you will drive the optimization of Apple Music’s global content strategy by working with cross-functional teams and music industry partners to deliver impactful insights and drive engagement. This is a dynamic and impactful role with the opportunity to influence the way millions of people experience music.
Description
The Program Manager, Content Optimization for Apple Music is responsible for:
Strategic Program Management & Execution: Develop and manage program plans, defining scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables for key Apple Music initiatives. Coordinate cross-functional teams (editorial, marketing, engineering, data science) to ensure program goals are met. Proactively monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and best practices.
Data Analysis & Insights: Lead the execution of research and analysis to inform the Apple Music business, focusing on optimizing performance across key priorities. Analyze user engagement and retention metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to distill data requirements and provide analytical support. Synthesize complex data into key components that drive informed decisions.
Performance Reporting: Develop and deliver regular performance reports to stakeholders, highlighting key trends, insights, and recommendations for optimizing content performance.
Communication & Collaboration: Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on program status and milestones. Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
Data Tool Development: Lead the development of data tools and solutions, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined and translated into effective tools. Ensure training is provided to stakeholders, and a phased launch plan is established with clear success metrics and feedback mechanisms.
This role is part of the Content Business Management team at Apple Music. We are responsible for managing and optimizing engagement with licensed and original music content, partnering with the larger music industry to drive business innovation, and developing new content and business initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in program management in the music or entertainment industry.
5+ years experience collaborating with data science, product, and engineering teams on cross-functional projects.
Experience using data systems and web-based data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) for data analysis, insights synthesis, and presentations.
Advanced skills with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau).
Deep understanding of the music industry landscape, including trends, artists, and business models.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience creating data visualizations and presentations using Keynote.
Familiarity with the Apple ecosystem of services.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $134,800 and $245,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
