How will you make an impact in this role?
The AIM (Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement) team – a part of Global Commercial (GCS) Marketing – is the analytical engine that enables Global Commercial business portfolio of American Express. Accelerating growth momentum, increasing profitability, and powering up our value proposition are key objectives for this organization.
The team enables GCS Marketing & Sales business by providing actionable insights to drive business strategy and growth. The incumbent in this role would work very closely with Marketing, Sales and Finance organizations to provide meaningful measurement analytics and actionable insights that help in creating growth strategies. They would perform campaign measurements, ROI analysis, experiment setup and enable the business by delivering key insights.
The Engagement & Retention Measurement Analytics team is responsible for leading the measurement of innovative analytics strategies across marketing channels for the US SME & Customer Marketing segment to drive increased and sustainable engagement.
The Manager will be responsible for performing strategic analyses, synthesizing conclusions, and communicating recommendations to partners and senior leaders. S(he) will be responsible for a wide range of run the business and strategic initiatives aimed at driving profitable growth through internal acquisitions. The ideal candidate should be able to drive strategic decision making and execute new strategies via advanced analytics, disciplined test & learn experiments, and effective partnership. The position is part of a highly collaborative environment, and the Manager will partner closely with AIM Strategy teams, Customer Marketing & GCS Finance teams based primarily in New York.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Economics) or business field experience with data querying languages (like Hive and SQL) and scripting languages (Python
Strong analytical/conceptual thinking acumen to solve unstructured and complex business problem
Articulate key findings to senior leaders/stakeholders to influence business decision making
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience initiating and completing analytical projects with minimal guidance.
Ability to manage several concurrent projects through collaboration across teams/geographies
Understanding of experimental test vs control and read statistical reports
Demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure situations with minimal errors
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative field. 2 years of work experience (1 years with a Masters) in analytics.
Experience with big data programming language like Hive or Spark Demonstrated
Experience in Designing and executing tests Background in commercial data and products
Strong knowledge of statistics is preferred.
Work experience in relevant Industry & Domain is a plus
Excellent programming skills and comfort with data manipulation tools is strongly preferred
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
