Position Summary:

The Electrical Maintenance Technician I performs a variety of types of simple preventive and routine electrical maintenance and repairs, including simple electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or carpentry work to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and to maintain the physical condition of the building. Learns and understand the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Repairs and maintains manufacturing equipment and other miscellaneous duties within their capabilities.

Assists with preventative, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities.

Maintains clean and orderly working area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.

Solves problems and participates in process continuous improvement.

Communicates effectively with all team members.

Complies with and promotes Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.

Learns and applies high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship.

Performs supervised work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant electrical maintenance experience or electrical apprentice experience.

  • Demonstrated product, process, and technical knowledge within job classification.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organization and planning skills.

  • Knowledge of Cummins company policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Ability to pass a multiple choice Industrial Maintenance skills test with a minimum passing score (60).
